After I graduated college I moved back home and went back to where it all started. The theme park where I sharpened all of my skills welcomed me back with open arms with such an amazing opportunity. I was blessed with being able to come in a create my own concept, design all the costumes, write the script, and choreograph the routines in the show. At the start of the summer we only had two speakers no mics and a remote control to manually do all the sound effects. However by the end of the show after all the positive feedback we had two speakers, a mic for each of the three performers, a tech with a sound board and a huge sign to let everyone know who we were. Beyond thankful for the experience of creating a concept then directing it as well as performing in the show all summer.
Below are some pictures from the show to see us in action.
The concept was that all of us in the show were in a rock band. We called ourselves "The Next Big Thing" and that was exactly what we were until all the new rides coming to town took that title from us. We were forced to come up with new acts to compete with these big time rides that were beating us in speed and height. Our new acts consisted of juggling, magic, and even hula hoop! Definitely a fun filled show that everyone could get into including the audience participation air guitar contest.
